NEWS: Artsearchuk.org

Artsearchuk.org is a new website that functions essentially as a search facility, allowing you to quickly unearth the UK's most authoritative and informative sites on contemporary art practice.

Instead of trawling through endless inappropriate and irrelevant results, it links you directly to the best sites in the country, including many that fail to appear on the larger generic search engines.

The site is a very valuable tool for artists, curators and researchers or anyone requiring information on particular artists, galleries, funding bodies, and visual arts events.

So if you are desperately trying to find the one piece of information you need, or are unsure of where to even begin looking then artsearchuk.org, may just prove to be the answer.

NEWS: Where we are

Declan Patten

You Are Here was established in 1999, with the aim promoting visual arts in Nottingham, and helping artists gain exposure on broader terms.

It has just completed its first project, Location, which involved taking five Nottingham artists over to Iceland. Plans to organise a reciprocal exhibition are in the pipeline.

Earlier this year You are Here launched its website, an online database consisting of a continually increasing catalogue of artists, as well as details of galleries and other art organisations, groups and networks within the region.

The site also features current what's on listings, and has an up to date news and opportunities section, making it an extremely valuable resource and well worth logging on to.

Although the site predominantly focuses on central England, any artist regardless of age or geography is welcome to join the database. For more information go to
